I went on two site visits on the same day this week which highlighted the power of the updates to our digital marketing - particularly the use of Video in our marketing efforts
FIrstly, the 4.30am start to drive from West Yorkshire to South Wales was somewhat of a shock.. As was the 9.30pm return home!
t's been a while since I've done this sort of day out! Fortunately, I'm glad I have my Tesla, which did most of the driving for me!!!
The first visit was to a long standing customer....
I parked up in the car park and was waiting a colleague to join me. A member of staff just arriving popped over to say hello. I'd never met him before, but he recognised me from my social media presence.
During my meeting, there was a knock on the door, and one of the Sales Team wandered in to say hello to me. Again, we'd never met or spoken but he is also strong on Social Media and he'd seen my posts!
My second visit was to a prospect. Anyone who has been to our web site, or followed me or my company on social media will know that we have been creating videos for use on our web site and social media. These are to highlight how our customers can benefit from our solutions and show how. I've put myself on 50+ videos in the past 18 months which have been published.
It was great to see that these videos actually do get watched! The prospect had distributed links to our video walk-throughs to many of their key staff and this has helped everyone to be fully aware of our solution,
It also meant that I had instant recognition around the dealership as "the man in the videos"
I've written a few times about the change to our sales and marketing, about using Social Media, Video and other digital means to allow prospective customers to find out about our solutions in detail without having to go as far as actually engaging with our sales process.
The two experiences above show this works!
It highlights how strong the power of Video can be for dealers, in getting over not only their stock but also their personality and Unique Selling Points...
In my experience, this is a real leveller - as the best at doing this are the smaller "Owner-driver" dealerships
