This week has been an interesting mix of old and new.
This morning I popped over to an open day at Mini Medics - a customer of mine. As the name suggests, they look after and rebuild classic Minis. I went over in my new Tesla, which seemed somewhat out of place along with all the classic cars. I still managed to have a great conversation on the subject of the quality of the wrap on my car (I'm really impressed - it was done at The Vehicle Wrapping Centre in Leeds) and also on the comparison of living with an Electric Car compared with an old school ICE vehicle.
I have a well deserved reputation of being an Electric Car fan and a fan of sustainability in general, but as someone who has spent my life in and around the motor trade, it's impossible for me not to be nostalgic about "the way things used to be".
As I approach the beginning of my second quarter century with Navigator, it's a good time to be looking backwards at the journey we've come along so far and the journey that is still in front. One thing that I know, is that there is no way to predict the world in 25 years time.. I doubt anyone would have predicted how things would be today back in 1997!
Who, would have thought, that the phone on our pockets would be more powerful than the computers we used on our desktop back in 1997 ? And by some considerable margin!
The abcve picture captures a moment, The Future represented by my Tesla, today, represented by the current Mini and yesteryear with a Classic Mini.
Simon Clarkson and his team at Mini Medics seem to be doing a great job in keeping some classic cars of the past running into the future, hopefully for future generations to enjoy.
